Content theory of motivation


Motivation is a theoretical construct used to explain behavior. It represents the reasons for people's actions, desires, and needs.


The content theory of motivation: It is one of the best theory of motivation. It focuses on the importance of what motivates us (needs). There are five needs to motivate people. That are Psychological, safety, social, self-esteem and self-actualization.

 As there are five needs in the content theory among the four theories which covers all the aspects of the social needs, esteem needs, security needs and the self-actualization needs that makes it the great theory to follow among four. As every person in this universe needs food, shelter and clothes as their basic needs and above all the self-esteem this theory contains all these things in it. This makes it the most appropriate one which satisfy all the needs and requirements of humans.
